ANALYSIS
Garrigan has all the ingredients needed to win a championship but that seems like alot of pressure to place on the sophomore GM. Verlander and Gonsolin are playoff caliber starters while the rest of the rotation needs to keep their head above water in the early innings then the bullpen can turn out the lights on any opposing lineup.
The lineup is impressive given its balance and depth. Machado, Hoskins and newcomer Trace Thompson strike fear in any pitcher. Everyone except Ruiz hits above league average while the bench provides veteran depth and solid defense.
If Garrigan manages the back of his rotation and mixes and matches his stellar bullpen, the Iron Horses should score enough runs to win the NL Central and go far in the playoffs.
