86 GOWDY ALL STAR TRIBUTE TO THE NEGRO LEAGUES

                                          86 ALL STAR TOURNEY

A successful Negro league was created in 1920 when team owners met at the Paseo YMCA in Kansas City Mo in  1920.   I grew up in Kansas City and neighborhoods were divided by ethnicity and race with DMZ zones known as parks.  One thing that all these neighborhoods shared in common was a love of baseball and that included the kids that lived in that Paseo neighborhood.  Baseball and other sports were our first interactions with other neighborhoods.  So I want to play an All Star game which gives tribute to the Negro leagues and also see some of the historic demographics of the game with a  4 team round robin tournament using the Inside Pitch board game.  Team names:

Black Diamonds ( Afro-American players)
Internationalists ( Foreign born players)
Confederates  (  players born in Southern and Western states)
Federalists  ( players born in Northern and Eastern states )

note:  some players* may play for teams where there were insufficient players in a pool
