NOTES

You have to love the intensity of GM Tony Portilla.  Portilla is the league version of Billy Martin.  He rides his starters until their arms fall off and he looks for any advantage to win every game.  He is a great addition to the league.

We all better watch out because Tony now has Tom Seaver.  Seaver arguably was the best pitcher in the 70s and now he makes his home in Jackson Heights.  He definitely is the best ace in the 73 Liberty league deck of cards.   Add Stone, Sosa and Pattin  to the rotation and you have enough to win the toughest division in the League.  Ramon Hernandez will close while Tony will use Barr and Bryant like Swiss army knives to fill the gaps.

The best hitting roster will provide plenty of run support.  Tenance, Powell, Staub, Parker and Kosco will simply humble and overpower opposing pitching.  About the only weakness I can see is the no hit but great fielders in the middle infield.

The numbers say this is the year Portilla and Tom Terrific lead the Metros to their first Liberty League ring.
