NOTES

This could be the most exciting team in the 73 season !!

Bonds... Bobby  Bonds.... what a combination of power and speed. Unlimited potential and a possible MVP candidate.

Lou Brock will continue to put all kinds of pressure on the basepaths and could break the league record for most steals in a season.

Al Hrabosky,,, the Mad Hungarian.... psyching himself up with his back to the mound then turning around, touching the rubber then looking so mad you wonder if he is going to make a pitch or start a brawl.

Mel Stottlemyre... the right handed version of Whitey Ford.

The lineup is the strength of this team.  Look for the starters to wear out opposing pitching with doubles and taking the extra base so often you could look up at the scoreboard and 5 runs are on the board before you know what is happening.

The pitching is good but there is a lot of great pitchers in this league so ESG falls to 9th in the pitching rankings.

Mink is doing a good job of turning the franchise around but it may be another year or two before ESG makes the playoffs.  The number predict a 5th place finish in the improving East.
