NOTES
You know there is a Yankee lover in every league and this league is no exception. Commissioner Queary's franchise shows all the symptoms of this deadly disease. The team has a New York theme ( Gotham), they play in the house that Ruth built, they adore Thurman Munson like the greatest baseball martyr since Roberto Clemente. They even say Munson was better than Bench when no one is paying attention.
The Commish has a winning record despite this terrible disease so the League better pay attention to this team.
The first thing the Knights will try to do is just terrorize opposing pitchers with the 3rd ranked hitters in the league. Munson, Mayberry, Morgan, Schmidt, Foster and Matthews will send many pitchers to the showers throughout the season. Alley and Hovley provide exceptional defense up the middle.
Every team has great pitching in this league so do not under estimate the Knights' pitching staff even if it is ranked 10th. Twitchell (152) is the surprising ace of the staff while Medich, Gentry, Hooton and Osteen form a solid rotation. The potential weakness is a bullpen with no obvious closer so Queary will have to use a closer by committee and hope for the best.
The hitters could take the Knights all the way to their second World Series championship. The numbers say Gotham will finish 3rd in the rugged Western division.
