3. LOS ANGELES DODGERS  13-8  (3-1)

The Dodgers continue their climb up in the standings in the hope of defending their 1965 World Series championship.  Phillies ace Jim Bunning outdueled Sandy Koufax 2-1 to limit the Dodgers record to 3-1 in the chapter.  Top performers include:

Maury Willis 35H 15SB 365AVG
Sandy Koufax 49IP 3W 51K
Jim Brewer 3 Saves

4. DETROIT TIGERS  11-8

Dave Wickersham threw a 1 hitter over the Mets sparking the Tigers to a 3-1 record in the chapter.  Detroit had impressive wins over Minnesota and Baltimore before Gary Peters and an impressive White Sox bullpen shutdown the Tigers 5-2.

5. WASHINGTON SENATORS  11-8

The Dodgers shutdown the Senators 4-1 in the only game Washington played in the chapter.   Dodger lefty Johnny Podres went 7.1 innings while only giving up 1 run.

6.  CALIFORNIA ANGELS  10-8

Fred Newman posted a complete game win over Milwaukee to hand the Braves their only loss in the Chapter.  The Angels primary weapon is a pitching staff which ranks 6th in the league with a 2.84 ERA.

Only 20 games remain in the regular season before the playoff teams are determined.

Inside Pitch continues to impress with a high degree of realism and reproducing the feel of major league baseball.
