I own the Cincinnati Reds and the Seattle Mariners.  Seattle made a historic trade in the offseason, sending Aaron Judge to the DNSB Yankees for Cy Young King Gerrit Cole.  At first blush, it seemed like a terrible trade but as the old adage goes, you don't make trades to win trades, you make trades to win games and hopefully make the playoffs. 

The Mariners were successful in the regular season, posting 106 wins and a AL West crown, edging out a traditional powerhouse, the Oakland As,  by a 3 game margin, earning a playoff slot against the Houston Astros. 

Seattle's scouts noted the Astros had several All Stars in the lineup and hoped to prevent Tucker and Alvarez from beating the Mariners in the playoffs.  Houston had other ways to beat the Mariners.
