ANALYSIS
You never know what young pitching will give you. Ashley did a good job acquiring a promising crop of young pitching but 3 of them are on the DL list and Trevor Rogers just slipped into a negative trance. Perth's rotation is left with a bunch of average starters for the 23 SSL season but help should be on the way once the young crop of starters mend their bodies and their psyche.
The bullpen is above average but lacks the usual depth found on other quality staffs.
You have to like the way the lineup is coming together. Yordan Alvarez is arguably the best hitter in baseball while Wade and Diaz are above average hitters usually ignored by baseball media. O'Neil Cruz and MJ Melendez offer future promise while Hoerner and Grisham are excellent defenders who solidify the defense up the middle.
Perth would have a higher ranking if all those young pitchers were not on the DL. As a result, look for Perth to manage a 3rd place finish in the AL West.
